This issue reviews several of the summer's major blockbusters. Nothing is going to be nominated for an academy award from this bunch, but they're better than I expected.

A couple quick notes:

    * Drum roll, please: The next issue (September) will have a retrospective of some of the memorable films released 40 years ago in August, 1981 (yes, I was alive and old enough to see R movies without an adult). How have they stood the test of time? Which were the biggest box office draws? Any cult classics? We'll see.
